Apnea Per Hour in Fractions

Hi all - I’m trying to understand what a fraction of an AHI per hour is. For example on most nights I either have 0 or 0.1 or 0.7 AHI per hour. Does this mean I’m having partial events and my CPAP puts a stop to it when they start? Thanks!

I am a dentist working in dental sleep medicine. Actually, no, the number of events are averaged over your sleep time to give a figure. Let me give a simple example. Let’s say that you slept for ten hours straight. During that time you only had one apnea. That would average out to .1 apnea per hour or an AHI of .1. Arthur B. Luisi, Jr.,D.M.D.,

Thanks! That was helpful!
